Who Is Dwyane Wade’s Lesser-Known Son With Reality TV Star Aja Metoyer?

Gabrielle Union’s husband is a dad of four kids who have been his priorities for as long as he’s had them. His two eldest and his youngest are often in the spotlight for being themselves. When was Xavier Wade born?

Xavier Zechariah Wade was born on November 10, 2013 to Aja Metoyer and Dwyane Wade. He is Wade’s third child who shares two children, Zaire and Zaya, with his ex-wife, Siovaughn Funches. When Xavier was born, Wade’s relationship with now-wife, Gabrielle Union, was on-and-off.

Wade and Union broke up in January 2013, and he had a short romance with Aja Metoyer. She’s recognizable as one of the original stars of Vh1’s Basketball Wives. They used to be friends before having a brief fling. Metoyer would reveal her side of the story on Basketball Wives. But it would quickly brand her as the ‘homewrecker’ among fans.

Dahveon, Zair, and Zaya were involved in Wade’s proposal to the Hollywood star. They were also a part of the wedding on August 30, 2014, in Miami. Xavier was absent from his dad’s milestones naturally because he was an infant then, but also because of another reason.

Metoyer has full custody of Xavier. The details of their co-parenting agreement are not public. However, it does appear that Dwyane does his due for Xavier. Although Wade expressed his wishes to spend more time with him, he accepts that it is his responsibility to make up for the physical distance between him and Xavier.

In an interview, Wade revealed that Xavier is into video games. So he connects with him by learning all he can about his favorite games. “If Xavier is into Fortnite, then I’m going to try to learn as much about Fortnite as I can to meet him where he’s at so we can have conversations about Fortnite, right?” said ‘The Flash.’

In 2022, the co-parents celebrated Xavier’s ninth birthday in a lavish way. Pictures from the heartwarming day were a hot topic among fans, praising him for making their blended family work.

However, it isn’t always smooth-sailing. Union revealed her feelings about Wade fathering a child with Metoyer in her book, You Got Anything Stronger? while dealing with her fertility issues. It prompted some cryptic reactions from Metoyer on social media, who threatened to air some dirty laundry.
