A post about former and current NBA stars’ children went viral on social media recently. A fan shared images and profiles of these children to remind his generation of basketball fans that they are getting old! Some names on the list were already fairly popular like Bronny James, Bryce James, and Kiyan Anthony. Also, there were a couple of relatively less familiar names as well. One such name was Andre Iguodala Jr., the son of Golden State Warriors legend Andre Iguodala. However, he has had his fair share of the spotlight over the years.

His name was first on the list and a lot of fans were keen to know more about him. The 4x NBA champion married his childhood sweetheart Christina Gutierrez and they have a daughter and a son. His son Iguodala Jr. is already 16, making most fans feel old.

Andre Iguodala Jr. was born on March 24, 2007. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. The idiom holds true to Iguodala Jr. who is already listed as 6’6″ and is following in his father’s footsteps. Andre Iguodala once noted that his son was growing taller than him during a podcast appearance. In 2022, when Iguodala posted an image with his son to wish him on his birthday on social media, people could not believe their eyes. The then 15-year-old was as tall as the NBA veteran and the post went viral.

Given the 2015 NBA MVP’s time in the league, his son picked up a basketball when he was young. What started as a hobby soon became a passion and the now-16-year-old is serious about his hoop dreams. Iguodala Jr. now goes to Link Academy in Branson which is in southwest Missouri. Like his pops, the youngster is also a small forward.

Notably, Iguodala Jr. grabbed some headlines in 2015 when he was just 8. Iggy’s former teammate and podcast partner Evan Turner made an interesting comment comparing LeBron James Jr. and Iguodala Jr. The former star revealed that he said this to LeBron James before a game between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Boston Celtics.

“I was talking to Iman Shumpert because we went to middle school together,” Turner said as per Complex. “And then LeBron came over to me because I’m [a former Ohio State] Buckeye or whatever, and I told him I know a little guy who can beat his young guy. He asked me who and I said Andre Iguodala Jr…We just laughed about that.”

Even though Turner made it clear that he was joking with James, it was still a piece of massive news given LeBron’s popularity. However, it was still a huge praise for Iguodala Jr. Turner also noted that Iggy’s son was “pretty good” and had a good shooting touch. Bronny is currently playing college basketball for USC so it will be interesting to see how Iguodala Jr. would turn out.

Andre Iguodala Jr.’s on his development and game
