All the Instagram troublemakers have titanic competition. Shaquille O’Neal has riled up all 32 million followers with his hot take. He’s humbly put himself in the middle of the tier but that’s not necessarily pleased everyone. Nonetheless, the Big Aristotle has sparked discourse around the NBA Draft. While O’Neal found tremendous success in Los Angeles and Miami, the post brought back memories of his time with the team that drafted him.

Fans chimed in about the top ranks, about O’Neal’s own spot in it, and the snubs. Some agreed, most vehemently disagreed. And it all makes for the reactionary goldmine Big Diesel wanted.

Shaquille O’Neal woke up and chose violence. He knew what would jolt his followers is a nice debate on “Ranking 10 greatest no. 1 overall draft picks.” He posted a list from another source and gave his opinion on it very honestly.

“thoughts i say he’ll nawwwwww,” was Shaq’s take. The list ranked LeBron James in first position. Shaquille O’Neal was in the middle at No.5. His new Reebok VP, Allen Iverson was at No. 10.

Orlando Magic’s No. 1 pick in the 1992 NBA draft, Shaquille O’Neal came to the league with a high degree of expectations. Right before he left for Orlando, Shaq was mentored by another first overall pick, Magic Johnson, who is third on the list.

Though Shaq didn’t win a title as a rookie, he established himself as the upstart to watch out for with consecutive All-Star appearances. He was the first player to be named Player of the Week in his first week in the NBA. He was also NBA Rookie of the Year and the first rookie to become an All-Star starter since Michael Jordan in 1985.

Despite racking up individual accomplishments, Orlando supporters believe he didn’t do enough for the franchise and therefore didn’t deserve to be higher than Hakeem Olajuwon on the list.

While most would agree King James deserved that spot, it’s the snubs that got everyone talking. A few need a refresher course on NBA history regarding a glaring technicality in this list that’s getting ignored.

Fans pick their faves for Shaq’s list

One user commented “What? Where is Michael Jordan?????” which was echoed by a few others. This is a list of first-overall draft picks.

His Airness was picked third in the 1984 draft after Hakeem Olajuwon and Sam Bowie, shocking NBA analysts at that time. The first two teams needed centers and hence had to skip Jordan.

Many took on Shaq’s history at Orlando who picked him first to question him. “U should be number 6 big fella u didn’t win a ring for Orlando!” is the nicest phrasing among the opinions going around. Another straight up said, “Orlando didn’t get much out of that first round pick.”

The Houston Rockets legend, Olajuwon was the scene-stealer. Some claim he deserved the number one spot or at least should’ve been higher than No. 6. “Agreed, Shaq you should be below Hakeem,” one said. Another added, “Hakeem #1.

Magic Johnson was another popular choice since he kickstarted the Lakers dynasty as a rookie. “Nah Magic HAS to be #1. Led them to a chip as a ROOK. #PointGod,” it was concisely put.
