Spooky season is incomplete without the ‘Big Fellas’ and their dedicated efforts to nail each Halloween fit. This year was no different. The fan-favorite NBA on TNT crew flaunted their characters with pride and child-like enthusiasm. However, in this process, Charles Barkley couldn’t resist pulling a classic move on live television.
Chuck and Co. started today’s show by explaining their characters and inspiration for the same. While each had an interesting avatar, one in particular stood out to the fans, and to Barkley.
Charles Barkley Calls Out Ginny O’Neal

The one who seemingly stole thunder was Shaquille O’Neal. With a flock of hair falling on his forehead, and pierced lips – Shaq had donned the look that took NBA Preseason by storm. Questioned by his godfather Ernie Johnson, Shaq revealed that he had dressed up like Jimmy Butler. As he pouted for the camera, Barkley dropped a hilarious take and addressed Shaq as “Ginny Butler”.

While Kenny Smith and Ernie proceeded to praise Shaq’s Butler impression, Barkley pulled another classic comment out of the bag. He said, “Wait, when is an ugly woman not bad
The 76ers legend’s comment drove Kenny Smith to state the obvious. He stated that Shaq is “not an ugly woman, he is Jimmy Butler” and a second of silence followed.

Notably, Butler began the NBA pre-season with a wig that would become the inspiration for ‘Ginny’. ‘Emo’ Jimmy was all the hype during Miami Heat‘s media day. And that’s actually when Shaq took note of the costume for his Halloween escapades.
Shaquille O’Neal Keeps His Promise

In an interview with ESPN, Big Diesel was questioned – “Have you ever had an emo phase?” Inspired by Jimmy’s ’emo’ look, this question worked as a perfect opportunity for Shaq to give fans an insight into his emotional state.
He said, “No, the diesel don’t get emotional, I am sorry.” Seconds later, the ESPN crew displayed an image of what Shaq would look like if he mirrored Jimmy’s look. Rather instantly, Shaq broke into a smile and promised to ‘rock’ the look on TNT’s set.

He said, “On TNT on Day 1, that’s how imma come in.” Despite not living up to his word verbatim, Shaq did show up and keep at least half his promise.
