The 2016 NBA season is up there with the best seasons of all time. Whether you want a record-breaking regular season record or a first-time 3-1 comeback in the Finals, the season had something for everyone. In spite of all the heroics, from the likes of LeBron James and Stephen Curry, one moment stands alone. Even though the Golden State Warriors were on the verge of breaking the 72-10 record, all eyes were someplace else.

A few miles south of the Bay, Kobe Bryant was playing his last game in the NBA. For one LA-based DJ in attendance, it was an out-of-body experience.

While his career went through all the ups and downs, the ending couldn’t have been better. For all of Hollywood’s excellent scripts, the one?Mamba?wrote was a cut above. The 5-time NBA Champion had one last miracle left in him. As the world watched on, Los Angeles Lakers’ favorite son wrote a storybook ending unlike any other.

In typical Mamba fashion, Kobe dropped 60 points in his final game. More importantly, he led his team to a win. From Shaquille O’Neal and Kanye West to Beyonce and Jay-Z, Staples Center was buzzing that day.

LA’s own, Valentino Khan, was in attendance for the iconic display. Speaking on ‘Chisme With DoKnow’, Khan detailed his experience.

This gotta be one of the best days of my life. The only way I can describe it,” he started.

“Even at the time, it was like watching a movie script in real life, it was like watching a video game in real life…Kobe was banged up…His knee was all f****d up, his shoulder was all f****d up, he was on his last legs…He missed his first four shots.”

And then the night really kicked into motion.

“Now he starts cooking. Starts to hit shots, hit shots, and we’re still down like 15 most of the game…Especially, it gets to the fourth quarter…Then he just starts to hit shots. He just doesn’t miss for like the last six minutes…We look at the scoreboard and it’s getting closer…Oh my God, Kobe has a chance to win the f***ing game…He hits a shot and I don’t react because I can’t believe this actually happens…That was the most insane f***ing sh*t I’ve seen in my life.”?

More than 7 years later, the moment still stands as a one-of-its-kind. For Valentino, and all Kobe Bryant fans, however, Nike brought in more good news over the summer.
