Reebok announced a landmark appointment by including two of its greatest NBA signees in the executive lineup. With Shaquille O’Neal and Allen Iverson leading the basketball division, there’s a lot to anticipate. Neither parties involved initially listed the official duties of the NBA legends-turned-leadership. That’s going to change in a day.

Shaq’s new righthand man, Allen Iverson, was the first to tease at something. Sharing a text exchange between himself and his prez on Instagram, he wrote, “Tomorrow,” with a goat emoji and tagging Reebok and O’Neal. The caption gets context from the text conversation.

A lot of eyes on this first move. Think we need to bring in the GOAT to set the tone,” O’Neal texted ‘AI (VP)’ as the contact is saved. The Philadelphia 76ers legend responded with, “100%.

The goat emoji followed soon after with the line, “Tomorrow’s the day.” Iverson liked that particular message. Shaq would repost the same video on his Instagram page twice with the words, “Tomorrow’s the day,” too.

It confirms it. October 18 is going to be epic in Reebok’s history. Shaq and AI are about to bring something worthy of the GOAT label in 24 hours.

This is the first of any announcement from Reebok. The specifics are still on the down-low. Fans are speculating about the return of some of the most popular sneakers in Reebok’s NBA line. Others are just happy for both of them getting this opportunity.

Shaq and AI make history together

Shaquille O’Neal signed with Reebok as a rookie in 1992 as its first signature athlete behind their first signature shoe line, Shaq Attaq. He’d walk away from it and launch an affordable shoe line with Walmart. In a full circle moment, he’s back as the president of Reebok.

Before its downturn, Reebok was at its prime with Allen Iverson’s trendsetting fame. As the fashion pioneer of the NBA, his role as VP is expected to restore the same glory to Reebok. The duo will be involved in building the roster of athletes but also make a huge presence in the brand’s community initiatives. Shaq also hinted at having design input while vowing to be deeply involved.
