Michael Jordan retired from the league after the 1993 season. He then went on to pursue a career in baseball. He came back in 1995 with a 2-word statement that read, “I’m Back”. The following year, Jordan went on to play the whole 82 games that season. During his major feat, he was caught off guard by a comedian in his locker room after a match.

On the way to the team making history by winning the most games ever at the time, Michael Jordan was doing an impressive performance himself for every game of the season. As he was getting older, his age was put into question in a hilarious manner by this jokester.

Towards the end of the 1996 regular season, Michael Jordan met the actor and comedian Bernie Mac in his locker room in Chicago. The old video from 1996 was posted by Complex on Twitter on October 5th. That is Bernie Mac’s birthday, and he would have been 66 years old if he were still alive.

Jordan turned 33 in 1996. Bernie went on to ask Jordan about his age and how he feels about playing a whole season in his old age. Bernie had a plethora of questions for Jordan in the Chicago Bulls locker room.

He asked, “How do you feel getting up out of your bed, out of your rocking chair so to speak? How do you prepare yourself for coming to the gym day in and day out and giving us so and so again? How do you feel about that Mr. Jordan? Old man Jordan.“

People around them had already started laughing after hearing this. Jordan responded that the season is still not over, so he hasn’t played the whole season. To this, Bernie hilariously responded that it felt like it was over. This is an ode to the team going 72-10 that season and showcasing its dominance over the rest of the league.

All this was possible because of Michael Jordan’s return and the changes made to the team.

MJ’s return after first retirement

Jordan came back in March 1995. Jordan and the Bulls could not do much in that year’s playoff. They fell to a young Shaquille O’Neal and the Orlando Magic in the second round. In the following year, the team was strong yet again after signing Dennis Rodman. The team went on to have a 72-10 record.

The Bulls won three championships in a row, and after that, Jordan retired again. A few years later, he came back to the league and played for the Washington Wizards. That was his last stint in the NBA. He played there for two seasons before retiring for a third time in 2003.
