The Los Angeles Lakers were 6-0 with their new starting lineup until they met the Phoenix Suns today. With a healthy team back in action, the LA unit couldn’t get a win, but in ‘year 21’ Bron got another dunk to highlight off a steal, which has sent the internet frenzy. A bit different from his usual ones, the 4-time champion took off from quite a bit too far, and even Kevin Garnett couldn’t help but show his excitement for it. After all, this is not the first time the Boston Celtics champion has seen this!
LeBron James took off from one step into the free throw line for a fierce dunk off a steal from Devin Booker’s pass. At this point, the 4-time MVP is doing it all himself and Garnett decided to give the King his flowers. KG shared on Instagram, “Yo Bron just took off from the dots yo…Foh…@38…crazy”. That’s some true love from the Celtics champion, but James is 39 years old, not 38. Also, Garnett experienced this dunk live, back in 2008.

In a playoff series against the Celtics, Cavaliers Bron jumped off a screen to slam the ball down above KG’s head, that too with just 2 minutes remaining in the game. Remember these famous words from the commentator, “LeBron James with no regard for human life”? Well, the human here is KG and a few other Celtics stars. The King has done it once again, but after 16 years!
Also, considering his approach as a fan these days, this won’t be the last time KG is giving Bron his flowers. In fact, the last time was just a few months ago.

Kevin Garnett puts old rivalry out of conversation to give LeBron James high praise
It’s not easy to give your rival their due credits. KG’s love for James is newfound, but it is indeed deserving and wholesome. The Boston Celtics champion has faced the Lakers superstar a lot of times in the playoffs in the late 2000s and early 2010s. The battle between the two is something every fan has loved watching. In fact, they have had their heated moments on the court as well. But after retirement, KG has put an end to the rivalry, which is very mature.
Garnett shared in an interview, “I’ve played against bro. I’ve let it go. It ain’t personal with me no more. I’m watching as a fan and I’m giving flowers… I ain’t seen some of this stuff we’re talking about bro…We ain’t never seen a 39-year-old.“
