Where the mightiest NBA stars have failed, UFC legends have succeeded. The Internet was clutching their stomach and going ouch in sympathy for Shaquille O’Neal, who recently got a taste of a UFC fighter’s fist. That’s not even the first time the big man was overpowered by MMA veterans. He once went after the head honcho himself.

It appears that Big Diesel didn’t learn from his mistakes. Almost a decade later, he tried to take on a different challenger and regretted it once more.

Shaquille O’Neal will dabble in sports entertainment anyway he can. Besides a successful 19-year career in the NBA, he solidified himself as a wrestling star too on AEW and other promotions. One arena he couldn’t succeed in was the MMA octagon.

Where the fiercest NBA pros couldn’t shut0down the Los Angeles Lakers giant, UFC fighters have got the better of him. The proof is in the pudding served by UFC’s president, Dana White. It dates back to 2014 when Shaq had a brief appearance in the cage.

In a tweet, White revealed, “Walkin thru the lobby and literally caught a dude trying to steal my bag and I to choke his ass!!”

The “dude” in question was Shaq, immobilized in Dana White’s grip. You can see the lifetime of 19 NBA seasons, four championships, and international gold medals flash before his eyes.

White may look like he’s enjoying taking down the thief, it’s really because this is a staged joke that was a hit on the Internet. The duo go way back and White is a longtime patron of The Shaquille O’Neal Foundation too. A few months after this picture, Shaq did a favor for White and hosted the UFC press conference in his Orlando home. He was meeting several UFC fighters at a televised event.

While the 2000 NBA MVP dwarfed every fighter he posed with, he let a good few ‘choke’ him for pictures.

Despite their friendship, Big Diesel’s dream of starring in the cage remains unfulfilled. White, in fact, joked that the UFC cameraman would be a worthy opponent for the amateur fan. The UFC head honcho is confident Shaq couldn’t take on his fighters, as was just proven.

Shaquille O’Neal was enjoying a mix of work and pleasure in China where he attended the Asian Games in Hangzhou.

He had a brief reunion with former rival, Yao Ming and even promoted Papa John’s 300th store opening in China. O’Neal also had the time to meet Zhang Weili. Magnum is the reining two-time Women’s Strawweight UFC champion who literally packs the punch.

O’Neal challenged Weili to test her strength on him. She went easy on him at first, but he provoked her to hit harder. The half-hearted “actual” punch brought Shaq to his knees with a pained admission, “You hit hard.”

Weili gloated about taking down Shaq on social media and even showed off she could lift the 351 lbs giant. Once again a UFC fighter humbled the mighty Big Aristotle. Dana White isn’t lying that Shaq can’t take on his fighters. Do you agree?
