The Miami Heat held its Dwyane Wade Hall of Fame Night recently on January 14. The 3x champion has been back at Wade County since then. After turning 42 on January 17, Wade was recently joined by Udonis Haslem and other friends and family to celebrate with a grand party. But the party is still not over, as his ‘brother’ Udonis Haslem is now set to be immortalized in Miami Heat history.

The Miami Heat has already announced that the team will be retiring Udonis Haslem’s No. 40 jersey on January 19 at halftime during the game with the Atlanta Hawks.

Dwayne Wade wrote on Instagram, “Celebrated my Jackie Robinson year in Miami with family and friends! Year 42!” This was followed by Wade posting stories from the night, which showcased Udonis Haslem spending time with his family.

Wade also shared a video of Haslem expressing his gratitude to everyone for getting this honor. Wade wrote in his Instagram story, “My Brother Jersey going up on the rafters tonite!!!!!” while sharing a video of Haslem talking about how much Wade has inspired him in his journey.

Udonis Haslem is the sixth Miami Heat player to get this honor

While Haslem is not the best player that has ever played on the team, he is joining the likes of Shaquille O’Neal, Dwyane Wade, Alonzo Mourning, Tim Hardaway, and Chris Bosh. Haslem’s dedication to the organization is what allowed him to be on the team for his entire career. Haslem said, “I think it’s huge for not just me, but for my family and obviously for the city of Miami.

Although he went undrafted in 2002, Haslem found his way to the NBA. He played key roles in all the Heat’s championship runs. Haslem represents the Heat culture to the fullest, and his jersey retirement is well deserved.
