The Los Angeles Clippers beat the Philadelphia 76ers in a nail-biting 108-107 contest. During the last play, Kawhi Leonard blocked Kelly Oubre Jr.‘s shot. But it seemed like before the block, Paul George had fouled Oubre. The decision was in favor of the Clippers.
The game was a close one, and emotions got the better of him. After the buzzer went off, Oubre shouted out at all three referees, sending an abusive message towards them.
Ex-Los Angeles Clippers legend Lou Williams found an amusing side of it. He said, “This is $25k per b***h,” on the latest episode of Run It Back. The 37-year-old was asked to guess if the fine would be over under $50k. To which he replied ” I thought the over was gonna be 50. Now watching this, this might be at least 75.” Explaining his thought process that it would be $25k per b***h,

At the time he was unaware that Oubre had cursed 3 more times making his total to 6. Williams was quick on his feet and said ” That’s $150k, That’s math, $25k a piece.” He ended with “But listen, if you know you’re gonna get fined, go get your money’s worth.” However unfair the referee’s decision seems to be, it is never in good spirit to cross the line and abuse them. After the game, both parties accepted their mistakes.
Cooler Heads prevail after the tense Clippers vs 76ers game
Philadelphia Coach said, “I think he took it in there pretty hard, right?” Nick Nurse was honest and said it is part of the game. “I looked at it on our computer screen a couple times. I thought there was certainly contact. Certainly, as much as the last two or three that got called and-1’s at the other end. And that’s all. I just thought it was enough contact to call. But that’s the way it goes sometimes.”
In an interview with PHLY Sixers, He apologized for his outburst and was ready to accept the punishment.”I want to apologize for just losing my cool, because that’s something I try to work on each and every day, and try to represent God in the best way I possibly can, and that wasn’t it. I just ask for forgiveness.”

The referees also admitted their mistake of not recognizing the foul at the end according to Keith Pompey Sixers beat writer tweets. NBA refereee Kevin Scott on the final play of the Sixers vs. Clippers game: “On the last play on the floor, in real time the crew interpreted that play as the defender jumping vertically. However, in post-game video review we did observe some slight drift to his left by the defender George, and a foul should have been ruled.”
It’s good that there is no bad blood being carried over. After all, everybody is human and mistakes happen. But what due to think was there any way the right decision could have been made on the court? Were the Clippers the deserved winner?
