Chemistry on television matters. Despite the star power, what makes NBA on TNT click is the group’s camaraderie. While the show is a good example, even on other platforms, their fondness and bond are clear as day. No interview or podcast appearance from Charles Barkley is complete without a mention of the other 3 hosts. But, along with that connection comes unparalleled hilarity. Regardless of the subject matter, their chemistry and impeccable comedic timing make any encounter hilarious. That is how a simple gift exchange for Christmas between Chuck and Ernie Johnson became primetime comedy material.
On The Steam Room, Barkley would get a plethora of gifts from his Santa. However, the situation would get progressively worse for the Philadelphia 76ers legend. With each gift coming off the board, the joke became clearer. The entire ordeal was a spoof with none of the presents holding any merit or use for the Hall of Famer.

Next, was a mail organizer. “Who needs a mail organizer?” The joke being, of course, that the Round Mound of Rebound does not get any mail. There was still more to come, though. Next on the list was “coffee.” By this point, the former MVP was not impressed.

Continuing, the next one unfortunately struck out too. This time, the unfortunate victim was “guacamole. Come on man, we can’t eat guacamole. You know how I feel about guacamole.” Pretending to act innocent, the recent Hall of Fame inductee would further egg Chuck on.

“This is like all of the things Chuckster that you despise all happen to be in the white elephant.” Instead, Charles has his idea for the ideal gift. “That’s why I say y’all should just give me some cash, then I can buy my own stuff….Guacamole is just a bottle of mush.”
The finale, however, was perfect. While reading champagne got Barkley’s hopes up, it was all for naught. As he would find out, the last option in the White Elephant was a hairbrush. Of course, the big man could make great use of the Miami hairbrush.
