Looks like Kevin Garnett wants to be a supportive teammate after his retirement too. The Boston Celtics legend is keeping an eye out on the young ballers of America, both male and female. He has shown some great support to the teenage ballers and his former teammate’s daughter is one of them. Garnett played alongside Trenton Hassell, a former NBA veteran, back during his days at the Minnesota Timberwolves. Well, that was two decades ago, and he has not forgotten that bonding yet.

Hassell’s daughter Lauren is a prospect to look out for. She is tall, just like her dad, and is already giving her opponents nightmares on both offense and defense. It might be too early to tell anything, but Garnett believes she has a great future. Sharing one of her viral highlights on Instagram, Garnett spoke highly of her“I see that work is paying off…We see you, Ms. Lauren…KEEP IT GOING!”

Lauren is ranked the number one freshman in Tennessee State Independant at the moment. The young baller plays for the Clarksville Christian High School. In 97 games played for the high school, Lauren averaged 16.6 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks per game, which is impressive for such a young age. It wouldn’t be surprising if she makes it to the WNBA in 2027, when she will be done with college.

For starters, he has played nine seasons in the NBA and he is also the coach of the high school team since June 2020. The changes he has brought in the last four years are quite incredible. High school is where the journey starts and for Lauren, her dad has always stayed by her side, standing as a pillar of support. In the last two seasons, Clarksville finished with a 47-8 record.

When asked about it, Hassell said, “The program had success before I came, but I wanted the success to be more than just conference and district games…I thought it would take more time, but we’ve been blessed”. Hassell could have chosen any team for his experience, but he decided to guide a team full of talented girls. He shared, “We try to do everything as a family…We try to invest in the girls, not just on the court. Some of them know each other from playing in the summer, so they have a bond.” This is what matters the most and no doubt Garnett wants to support the Hassell family!
