In a recent episode of the Gil Arenas’ podcast Talks Team USA & Kevin Durant, there is a great discussion about two legendary hoopsters, Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Durant, and their scoring capabilities. A question sparked the discussion: In their prime, who scored more? Interestingly, an interlocutor in this conversation was a former basketball star, who had earlier rejected Carmelo Anthony?s record.
However, this disclosure introduced a thrilling argument about scoring versatility that placed the position of Kevin Durant side by side with a Knicks veteran.

The issue was sparked when Gilbert Arenas asked who the better scorer was during his prime years while hosting the podcast. The response from the former NBA All-Star was unequivocal. He stated clearly that Carmelo Anthony was the better scorer.

Their reasoning was simple but profound: The scoring was viewed with a tier-level competence aspect. Durant, the deadly three-pointer shooter, was good in the basics like layup, mid-range, and beyond the arc but Melo was out of this world.

The display by Anthony was nothing short of remarkable when he hit a high-five tier scoring game which comprised not only the basics but also included a flawless post-up game and one-on-one isolation skills.
This assessment helped to reveal the full scoring potential of Carmelo Anthony. By this time, he was a force to contend with on both ends of the court. Be it intimidating adversaries in the post or mesmerizing them with isolation moves, Melo?s shooting portfolio has created a mark on the NBA that is almost indelible.
