Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan dominated the basketball court during his 15-season career in the NBA. Unlike other players, however, he craves more, which is driven by his competitive spirit off the court.

Even after retirement, Jordan has continued to maintain his ambitious spirit. Whether it?s through the sport of golf or through his ownership of teams, MJ ensures that he achieves victory in whatever he strives to do. Unfortunately, for ‘His Airness’, some weeks end in dismay, as did this one.

A few days ago, Michael Jordan made headlines after he was spotted at the White Marlin Open, a fishing tournament that is held annually in Maryland. Marking his fourth appearance, Jordan had brought along his $8 million superyacht, Catch 23, to aid him during the competition.

Joe Pompliano, a sports and business enthusiast, broke the news on Twitter. He highlighted the features of Jordan?s boat, emphasizing its humongous 84-foot size, its livery ?wrapped in elephant print? and its $1 million operational cost.

Despite the fact that the majority of the eyes were on the former player, he wasn?t able to bag the top prize. With a record-breaking 640.5-pound blue marlin, Maryland resident John Ols was declared the winner of the tournament. He took him the grand prize of $6.2 million.

With the expectation of Catch 23, Jordan owns another superyacht which was recently compared with Shaquille O?Neal?s boat in an online video.

Michael Jordan’s other heartbreak in NASCAR

The fishing competition wasn?t the only loss that Jordan had to deal with this week. His NASCAR team, 23XI Racing, could be the subject of a financial loss after its minority owner and renowned racer Denny Hamlin publicly expressed some bad news regarding the upcoming NASCAR races.

A few days ago, 23XI Racing team member Bubba Wallace was pushed to the 16 position after being defeated by Front Row Motorsports driver Michael McDowell. Keeping the above fact in mind, Hamlin invited the victor for a chat on his ?Actions Detrimental? podcast.

During the same, Hamlin praised McDowell for being a ?top 5 superspeedway racer.? At the same time, he also brought out the consequences of McDowell?s actions on his team.

?What people don?t know is that (you) knocked my #23 car out of the owner?s playoffs. Now Bubba?s in it but we?re not in 23XI? Bubba is in on drivers, currently out on owners,” said Hamlin during the episode.

Through his statement, the 2020 Daytona Winner confirmed that McDowell displaced his team from the owners? championships, a competition through which NASCAR teams can potentially make large amounts.
