Everyone knows the greatness of Michael Jordan. He was a star as soon as he got to the NBA. Even in college, he won an NCAA championship with the University of North Carolina. But where do you think this ranks him among the best college athletes of all time? That was precisely what Reggie Miller and a 66-year-old sportscaster tried to debate.

Having faced Jordan during his time in the league and getting completely humbled by Jordan in his rookie season, Miller could never have thought of anyone else being better than Jordan. But the sportscaster begged to differ.

Michael Jordan did not have an all-time great college career

In a recently resurfaced clip from the Dan Patrick show, Reggie Miller and Dan Patrick were discussing the college career of Michael Jordan. This led to Reggie Miller saying that Jordan had a top-10 career in college basketball history.

What makes Jordan stand out is his iconic shot at the buzzer to win the NCAA championship. But that does not make him a top-10 player in college basketball history. He only played at UNC for 3 years and averaged 17 points whereas Hansbrough averaged 20 in his 4 years in college. This does not put Jordan as one of the greatest in the mind of Dan Patrick.

Then Dan Patrick said he is taking Hansbrough over Jordan when comparing college careers. This led to Miller saying, “What is on your mug“, suggesting that Dan Patrick was not in his right mind when making this decision.

Dan Patrick replied, “You are still afraid of Jordan. He is not in your room. Mike doesn’t like you anyway“. Dan again confirmed his stand. Miller could not fathom this after going up against Jordan during his career.

Reggie Miller was humbled by Jordan

Reggie Miller once announced why he only talked trash to Michael Jordan. In Miller’s rookie year, he faced Jordan in an exhibition game. As he was a rookie and used his trash talk to make a statement in the minds of his opponents, he said some things to Jordan after the first quarter.

Jordan had 4 points at the time, and Miller had 10. Jordan noted what he was saying and continued the match. When the match ended, he had 44 points and Miller had 12. Jordan walked up to Miller, said, ?Don?t ever talk trash to Black Jesus??and walked away.
