Father time is supposed to catch up with everyone, right? But LeBron James and Stephen Curry continue to prove the age-old narrative wrong. The Los Angeles Lakers dished out a phenomenal 145-144 defeat to the Golden State Warriors on the last night of the NBA’s Rivalry Week as James had one of his best games of the season with 36 points, 20 rebounds (Career high!!), and 12 assists. Many fans are calling it the game of the season and most stars from the basketball world seem to agree with it.

King James’ thrilling performance left former NBA center Kendrick Perkins in awe as he took to his X to express his excitement. He wrote, 36-20-12 is what a 39 year old senior citizen put up on the Warriors tonight with a W! Like I said before I’ll take Bron against the Warriors with no KD any day of the week. Carry the hell on…”

Despite Stephen Curry‘s 46 points, 7 assists, and season-high nine 3s, the Warriors lost after a thriller in San Francisco. Speaking of the Lakers’ performance, Magic Johnson wrote, “Just watched the best NBA game of the season!! The Lakers grabbed a much needed 145-144 2OT win over the Warriors at a crucial point in the season!” The 5x champion wasn’t done, though.

“We just saw two of the all-time greats play superb! LeBron James hit two clutch free throws to seal the game and finished with a 36-20-12 triple double, and my man Steph Curry put on a shooting clinic tonight scoring 46 points in a losing effort.” Former Warriors and Lakers forward Matt Barnes also praised King James for his stunning display, writing, “Monster game tonight by the King.” It was indeed a special night as fans got to witness something they have been doing for over a decade.

On the other hand, the Splash Bros came out all guns blazing after a disappointing first half. The two of them combined for 15 threes as Curry eventually took over in OT.
