Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal enjoyed a magical run at the start of the 21st century. The duo redefined greatness by going to four Finals in 5 years and winning the first three in a row. While the Los Angeles Lakers have a long history, the two were responsible for the only three-peat in the franchise. As a result, veterans and role players flocked to join the team, to improve their chances of winning a ring. But it wasn’t always smooth sailing for the signing veterans.

While names like Gary Payton and Karl Malone enjoyed their Laker stints, it wasn’t always the case. A 5-time Champion, who enjoyed a different three-peat, recently revealed his less-than-perfect experience with the legendary duo.

Dennis Rodman became a man synonymous with winning. Whether it was the Detroit Pistons or the Chicago Bulls, Rodman was a consistent winner. After winning 5 championships over the course of a decade, Rodman joined the 1999 Lakers.

But the union was short. A mere 23 games later, Rodman would end up in Dallas as part of a trade. While the Lakers fared well in the succeeding years, Rodman highlights how Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal weren’t big fans of him.

When asked about his time there, Rodman didn’t mince words. “It was hard…I knew the fact that Shaq and Kobe wouldn’t like me…Because a whole attention became Dennis. It shifted from them to me quick…They rarely would talk to me, even in games and stuff…That’s the main reason why they cut me…They didn’t want me there anymore.”

While his stint with the Lakers ended prematurely, Rodman can look back on his career with pride. A 5-time Champion and one of the greatest rebounders ever, Dennis was integral to the success of the ‘Bad Boy’ Pistons, and the Chicago Bulls.

Did Rodman date Jeanie Buss?

In the interview with VladTV, Rodman had a few interesting revelations. Speaking about the Buss family, he said, “Jerry Buss, he loved me…I used to date his, uh, daughter. I was dating his daughter at the time and we dated for like six months.”?

Over the years, Jeanie Buss has been known to be associated with or in a relationship with many from the team. Whether it was head coach Phil Jackson or now, Dennis Rodman, the current Los Angeles Lakers’ owner has an intriguing dating history.
