During his Los Angeles Lakers days, he was Superman. Now, he is DJ Diesel. The 51-year-old is pumped for the release of his first dubstep album, titled  ‘Gorilla Warfare’. The Hall of Famer turned DJ has caused quite a stir on the internet following the update on his first album. Of course, Shaq had some hip-hop albums in the 90s, including one that went platinum. But now, he’s ready to take on new genres!

He dropped the news on his Instagram announcing, “The dubstep dad is here.”

In the caption, he gave a heartfelt explanation about why he’s pursuing dubstep. “Dubstep for me is an escape. It’s a genre of music that allows me to feel free. this one is for the people.”

DJ Diesel is teaming up with Jessica Audiffred and nine other artists from the Canadian label ‘Monstercat’. The album ‘Gorilla Warfare’ has ten new songs by the 2000 NBA MVP along with his friends and is set to release next Friday.

Shaq shared this news with his Instagram followers from his DJ Diesel account. In the comments, Shaq himself asked “WHERE IS MY MOSHPIT!!”

Apart from fueling excitement, the announcement also fueled some rumors about Shaq’s involvement with a fellow DJ.
