Once Charles Barkley slapped the ‘follower’ label on Kevin Durant, a good few took offence. One of them was his former teammate from their Golden State Warriors era. DeMarcus Cousins was on the Bully Ball podcast where he learned of KD’s response to Chuck’s comments. After he said the Phoenix “leadership” won over the Lakers, Boogie was hyped.
He responded to Charles Barkley’s comments on Durant as “That’s bulls**t and corny.” He proceeded to say, “The reason I say that who is he [Durant] following? He’s one of the hardest workers we’ve ever seen in this game. He’s one of the most skilled players we’ve ever seen in this game. He’s one of the most consistent players we’ve ever seen in this game. So, I’m trying to figure out what guy he’s following to, you know, fit this mold.”

During the All-Star Game, Barkley said, “Kevin’s a follower. He’s not a leader. He’s proven that on all his stops.” A lot of others like Gilbert Arenas disagreed, same as Cousins.
KD led the Suns to a 123-11 victory over the Lakers after the All-Star break. He’d indirectly respond to Chuck’s comment then which apparently pleased Cousins.

Kevin Durant dismisses Chuck’s opinion
After a recent game, Durant told the media, “The leadership was incredible tonight.” KD ended the game with 22 points, 7 assists and 5 rebounds in 39 minutes before the home crowd. It gave him the bragging rights to throw the ‘leadership’ word around over and over in statement such as, “Our leadership won the game.” He dropped that word seven times in one interview, Rachel Nichols revealed to DeMarcus Cousins.
He officially addressed Chuck’s comments to the media. And he blatantly said he didn’t accept it. “It’s just part of TV. They needed something to fill a segment up. So they talk about some negative s**t, but if you’re not in the gym, I don’t respect your opinion if you’re not in the gym with me.”

He even implied that the people on TV, like TNT analyst Charles Barkley, don’t see how the training and practices go. Hence they don’t see how KD runs the practice to get an accurate picture. Boogie has more firsthand information to claim that he’s seen KD’s work ethic behind the cameras. What do you think about Cousins’ response?
