The Black Entertainment Television, also known as BET, has a historical legacy worth billions. The entertainment channel, which has been put up for sale, managed to bring in several bidders across America. One of them was Los Angeles Lakers legend Shaquille O’Neal, who, with rap legend 50 Cent, teamed up to enter the network industry.
Owned by Paramount, BET was ready to be sold to a 53-year-old legendary actor, who is the consortium along with Shaq and 50 Cent’s team. Sadly, the deal was cut short after the asking price didn’t match the offer. After the news went viral, the 48-year-old rap legend has broken his silence. Promising a comeback, 50 Cent went on to take a sly dig at the multi-billion company as well.

When news broke out about Paramount’s desire to sell the reputed company, its owners were claimed to have one goal in mind, to have African-American owners. That is exactly what Paramount got from 53-year-old legend Tyler Perry, who assembled an incredible group of investors to cut a deal for BET.
Among the illustrious group were Shaquille O’Neal and 50 Cent. Reports revealed Perry managed to cut a deal for $2 billion until Paramount decided to hike the asking price.
Now valued at $3 billion, Perry, Shaq and his team have opted out. In the meantime, Curtis Jackson, aka 50 Cent, has revealed the reason behind the failure. In an Instagram post, the 14-time Grammy nominee shared, “We will get them next time,” before claiming, “the sh*t wasn’t worth 3,000,000,000.”

The rapper has been very sound on Instagram of late. However, this response was a bit unexpected. Nonetheless, the fans seem to be on the same page as 50 Cent. Some have even requested him to open his own network with LA legend Shaq.
How did the deal get canceled?
While many speculations have hit the internet, Paramount is believed to have set the price for BET at $3 billion. The sudden increase and the cancellation have put off Perry and the others, which have stalled BET’s sales.
