The NBA is home to some giants of the world. The average height of all the athletes in the NBA is 6’6 but there are a few who exceed the rare barrier of seven feet. NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal‘s son Shareef was reportedly left shocked and in awe at the massive physicality of an NBA star who stands taller than his legendary father.

The majority of Shaq’s kids have followed their father’s footsteps and his oldest son Shareef is one of them. He plays for the G League Ignite in the NBA G League. Can his latest endeavor with the 7’1″ giant help ignite his NBA dreams?

Manute Bol is one of the most interesting characters in NBA history. He stands at a massive 7’6 tall. Furthermore, Manute Bol’s son, Bol Bol, got drafted by the Miami Heat in 2019 and stands at a massive 7’2 tall. Currently, the giant has been drafted by the Phoenix Suns.

Shareef O’Neal took to his social media to upload a picture of him and Phoenix star Bol Bol. Posting a picture of himself and Bol Bol in the same frame, the 23-year-old wrote, “Brother B.”

Bol Bol had a rather unstable start to his career in the uppermost tier of basketball. After being the 44th pick of the second round in the 2019 draft, he was traded to the reigning champions the Denver Nuggets and recently he is set to join hands with Kevin Durant at the Phoenix Suns. He hasn’t been able to prove his mettle in any team he’s been to and has already got traded a couple of times heading into his fifth season.

It’ll be interesting to see if he will be able to use his physicality to his advantage and establish dominance alongside Kevin Durant and co. On the other hand, Shareef O’Neal has taken baby steps in the G League despite facing adversity in his personal life.

Shareef O’Neal’s late bloom in the world of basketball is understandable. He once opened up about the pain when his parents were going through the process of divorce.

Shareef said, “There was [sic] times when I didn?t know if I was supposed to talk to him because I didn?t want to make my mom mad or I didn?t want him to feel like we were abandoning him.”

It’s rather inspiring that Shareef came out the other side stronger after his parents got separated. He currently plays a vital role in NBA G league Ignite, harboring dreams of an NBA career.
