Centercourt Studios, the in-house creative department of the Suns, designed the jerseys in partnership with Nike.

The studio carefully crafted them with Suns fans’ preferences in mind.

The Icon and Association Edition jerseys are a sight to behold. It features a sleek streaking sunburst with an embroidered Suns wordmark above stitched drop shadow numbers. In a nostalgic nod to the past, the shorts boast an asymmetrical design.

NBA sportswear journalist Nick DePaula took to Twitter. He unveiled that league rules required the new tribute jerseys to be subtly different from the original ones.

This technicality is there to preserve the authenticity of classic jerseys. Improvising on that, the “Suns” font is placed within the burst, unlike the original design from the ’93 Finals run.
