The Golden State Warriors lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves 110-114. Sunday evening was their second in a row and sixth out of their last nine games. One of the major takeaways from the loss was the head coach Steve Kerr’s decision to limit the minutes of superstar, Stephen Curry. It backfired majorly as the Warriors were only one game ahead of the Houston Rockets for the final spot in the NBA Play-In Tournament in the Western Conference,
The decision to rest or manage minutes of Curry has received major backlash from fans and NBA experts. During the Run It Back‘s latest episode, Chandler Parsons too criticized Kerr’s decision. The 9-year veteran of the game said, “So, no, I would think the exact opposite.”

He said Kerr realized his mistake for benching Curry for that long. Letting Timberwolves take the advantage of the situation was not a good idea. Stephen Curry posted a game-high 31 points before the Golden State starters touched the double-digit mark. Yet it wasn’t even and put a lot of pressure on the team.
Dissecting what Parsons said about Stephen Curry
Coach Steve Kerr after the match said, “If you want to say (Steph Curry) playing 30 or 32 minutes was the difference in a win or a loss, I totally disagree.” This can be understandable as it’s never a good idea when a team is entirely dependent on any one player. Parsons said “This isn’t the time to be, you know, not riding Steph Curry. maybe early on manage his minutes, especially when he’s banged up.” Emphasizing that it’s the business end of the tournament and the spot of the playoffs is on the line. Now Rockets are just a game behind and adding more pressure is not required.

Steph Curry had 31 points, yet it was their 13th loss when leading by at least 12 points. Parsons continued, “This is when you ride Steph Curry, this is when you push, I’m assuming he’s healthy and, and this is when they (Warriors) really got to start making their run. This isn’t when you can have your best player on the bench while the Timberwolves go on an absolute heater. So he’s healthy, he’s playing, he looked really good last night. This is exactly when you ride Steph Curry.”
