Shaquille O’Neal‘s youngest is making her family proud. While one of O’Neal’s sons is dominating with his music, his youngest daughter is creating ripples in the basketball world. It was recently announced that Me’Arah O’Neal has been selected for the 2024 McDonald’s All-American Game. It was a proud moment for her siblings as well as her father.
During the latest episode of ‘Inside the NBA,’ the Los Angeles Lakers legend and the entire crew decided to honor the teenaged basketball phenom. Shaq presented his teenage daughter with her 2024 McDonald’s All-American jersey. The eldest of the brood, Taahirah also quickly jumped onto social media to praise her younger sister, Me’Arah O’Neal.

The 28-year-old shared the clip from TNT’s official page and shared it on her Instagram Stories, posting, “So Proud of you Meezy.” During the show, Shaq became emotional while expressing his pride over his daughter and said, “First of all, I just wanted to say I’m so proud of you and I love you, I wanted to present you with this.”
Notably, Me’Arah’s father was a McDonald’s All-American in his time too. Shaq would even win co-MVP honors by recording 18 points and 16 rebounds during the 1989 game.

The rising basketball star, Me’Arah will soon graduate from Episcopal High School in Houston this year. Just recently, she also led the Knights with 28 points to victory over Kinkaid to win the Southwest Preparatory Conference Class 4A girls’ Championship title.
Me’Arah O’Neal inches close to her dream
The 17-year-old officially announced that she will play for the Florida Gators recently. While there was much hype about the player joining her father’s alma mater LSU, she found the right choice at the University of Florida. And though her playing style isn’t similar to O’Neal’s, Me’Arah’s game is just as impressive.

During the show, Kenny Smith even teased the Big Aristotle as he called Me’Arah, the best player in the family. “Right now, in the building, ladies and gentlemen, the McDonald’s American, the best player in the family, the one and only, Me’Arah O’Neal,” The Jet announced.
About her selection in the McDonald’s American, Me’Arah O’Neal said, “I was overwhelmed with joy. I actually took a victory lap, it was a really important moment for me because as a kid I dreamed of doing it.”

Three of O’Neal’s kids, Shareef, Amirah, and Shaqir are aspiring basketball players. Having closely watched their game, Me’Arah was inspired and driven to carve her name and career.
