The opening night in the NBA brings with it a host of predictions and overreactions. Every year, without fail, while one team is prematurely crowned, another faces the short end of the stick. That is the case this year as well. This time around, it is another prediction from Charles Barkley that can best be described as premature. After just one half, Chuck was ready to call off the Golden State Warriors‘ season. His take drew visual reactions in the studio, most notably from Shaquille O’Neal.

Then, the Warriors lost to the Phoenix Suns and Charles was able to further his rhetoric. Eventually, the news reached the Golden State locker room. But, rather than annoyance, it drew a hilarious response from their long-term head coach.

Due to their age, Barkley was adamant about Stephen Curry and co’s chances, or lack thereof. According to the Phoenix legend, there was little to no chance that the team could retain its former glory, even calling them “faulty.”

After learning about his prediction of their demise, Head Coach Steve Kerr had a hilarious response. Despite the loss, Kerr is optimistic about his team’s chances. After all, despite losing in a close one to a potential contender, Steve could point to the absence of defensive ace Draymond Green. Instead, Kerr chose to fire back at Barkley albeit in a hilarious way.

Well I used to work with Charles and his predictions are about 90% OFF. His hit rate is probably about 5-7% so I?m feeling pretty good about that.??A 9-time NBA Champion across his playing and coaching career, Kerr has a wealth of experience when it comes to winning. As a result, there is confidence among the fanbase about GSW’s chances under his stewardship.

But, Kerr wasn’t the only one that the Chuckster drew a response out of. Rather, in the studio as well, Barkley’s prediction got a hilarious response from resident archenemy Shaquille O’Neal.

Charles draws the ire of Shaquille O’Neal

It wasn’t just the former MVP devaluing the Warriors, however, that brought about a yawn from Diesel.?Instead, it was the proposed elevation of the injury-riddled LA Clippers that drew the ire of the LA Lakers superstar.

An in-house rival, Shaq’s disdain for the Clippers franchise is completely understandable. But, with Charles continuing to undermine the Warriors, how is the team going to respond on the court?
