Even Big Diesel’s manner of dishing advice is larger than life. Shaquille O’Neal flaunted the most blinding pieces of ice in his jewelry box to his 33 million Instagram followers unprompted. These necklaces come courtesy of his friends who know a thing or two about hustle culture. For those aspiring to be as ‘dazzling’ as Shaq, the big man had some big advice.

work hard treat yourself,” he wrote on Instagram accompanying glimpses of his four championship rings, his huge Superman necklace, a massive ‘DIESEL’ necklace, and the spinning MMG medallion. He thanked the people who supplied them too by tagging them. “@jewelsbyak @richforever thanks for my MMG piece.

Fans under Shaq’s post were grateful for the reminder to keep hustling and treating themselves first. Some were also awed by the big man’s jewelry that has the knack for looking average-sized on the 7’1″ giant.

Dallas-based custom jewelry business, ‘Solomon Brothers’, and their designer ‘AK’ have been Shaq’s favorite for years. He’s designed multiple versions of the DIESEL necklace that he’s sported in the EDM circuit. They even designed matching pieces for each of O’Neal’s sons. Shaq even directed and filmed an improvised commercial for them.

Sometime in November, O’Neal shopped the exact DIESEL necklace he showcased in this post at Solomon Brothers. He was so impressed by the designer, that he declared, I’ve never kissed a man before,” before dropping a smooch on AK’s head. His other necklace is from elsewhere though.

Shaq’s friend’s unique gift

The spinning MMG chain O’Neal flaunted was gifted by the pioneer of Maybach Music Group, Rick Ross himself. The music mogul stopped by the TNT studio for the world premiere of the “Shaq & Kobe” remix featuring O’Neal and Damian Lillard in October 2023, in time for the start of the 2023-24 regular NBA season.

He presented the MMG necklace to Shaq to commemorate their collaboration. But it was their friendship that shone in their respective Instagram posts on the gift.

O’Neal, who had a men’s jewelry line with Zale among his first post-NBA businesses, makes every piece of jewelry he owns an event. He hilariously staged a (fake) heist of celebrity jeweler, Johnny Dang’s pieces. But Dang caught him and made sure Shaq paid for his jewelry in full. Even he knows the $400 million rich big hustler can afford to treat himself.
