Many continue to give Erik Spoelstra his flowers for signing a historic contract with the Miami Heat, but Shaquille O’Neal decided to appreciate Pat Riley and the organization for saving the head coach from dishing out alimony checks. Spoelstra got the 8-year, $120 million contract, which is the highest deal ever for a head coach, and this was right after he got divorced from his ex-wife Nikki Sapp. Though we do not know if the Heat did this intentionally, the internet believes so. Shaq does not believe it, but the theory entertained him.
Shaq said on his recent podcast with Gary Owen, “So apparently Erik Spoelstra is going through a divorce. So his divorce got final and then a couple of days later, they made him one of the highest-paid NBA coaches ever…I don’t think they did that on purpose, but if they did, that’s a hell of a gesture.“ Well, looks like Shaquille O’Neal is envying Spoelstra’s big escape.

Shaq continues to pay $20,000 a month for his divorce till today and, most importantly, he lost all the profits he made from investing in Google, just to pay alimony to his ex-wife Shaunie Henderson. Sadly, he couldn’t invest more because Google was just a start-up back then. Anyhow, what’s gone is gone. But he is just happy that Spoelstra got saved!

Replying to a user’s comment, “Way to fumble a bag”, Sapp shared, “I’m going to address this comment…as it relates to a general thought process that…people have harassed me with over the years…Women can’t be genuinely in love with someone successful. No, they’re pretending and they’re in it for the money. And if a woman chooses to not be with a successful partner, apparently she’s an idiot.“
