Making it to the NBA and winning the NBA Championship is quite a tedious job. The odds of winning an NBA Championship are negligible unless the team signs multiple star players. But the 5x MVP Michael Jordan has led his team to six NBA titles. To this day, the basketball world is in awe of what MJ has done. Recently in a conversation, Jordan’s former teammate revealed the true colors of the Chicago team and his teammates.

Even the best Golden State Warriors team of the last five years wasn’t able to three-peat a title. But the Bulls did this twice. A former member of the Chicago dynasty revealed what went behind the scenes during their glory years.

Luc Longley was an integral part of the Chicago Bulls from 1994 to 1998. He was the first Australian to feature in the NBA and played for four different teams over the course of ten seasons. He was part of the squad that won three consecutive championship titles in 1996, 1997, and 1998. When asked how was it to play alongside Jordan and get coached by Phil Jackson, he had a rather intriguing answer.

Asked to give his take on Phil Jackson being perceived as a Zen master and Michael Jordan being thought of as a God-like figure, Longley replied, “There wasn’t room for any pretenders. When I first got there, maybe I thought I was pretending a bit. Didn’t know if I was good enough, but all that stuff is real. I learned to be real in amongst all that.” Longley made it clear that he was unsure if he fit well with the team initially given the amount of talent that was around him. He learned his role and became part of the team later on.

He added, “MJ was really a transcendental being. Dennis was really as mad as you think he is. He is probably madder actually from my experience. Scotty was a more generous and sort of impassioned of a teammate.” He gave some interesting personality details of his teammates, admitting Jordan was a rather special player. He also humorously hailed Rodman for having a unique personality and aura.
