In the clip, the 21-year-old asked his father if there was ever a time when he wasn’t motivated or losing sight of his goals. To which, Wade had a fascinating answer. While his words might not surprise those who have been following the legend since he stepped on the court, they continue to be a source of inspiration for several.
Explaining his drive, he shared, “I have been very driven my entire life it’s just something from the community I grew up in from my circumstances, I’m driven every day. I get out of bed every day for a different drive.”

He elaborated, “I want more. I just always wanted more out of life than what was presented to me, and I have always wanted for my family and for my people.”

He was 9-years-old when his father got his custody from his mother. Once in an interview, he revealed how, as a child, he had to worry about his mother and sister’s safety. Due to his mother’s legal and personal issues, the young Wade had to experience several unsettling issues that made him fear the police. He mentioned how his father stepped up to take responsibility for the family and helped her mother.
Further, he mentioned how his father was a role model in his life, guiding and advising him. That’s exactly what he is following in his life.
