Questioned by His 21YO Son, Dwyane Wade Unwraps How He Fought Past Troubled Childhood to Enter Basketball Nirvana With 17 Accolades

A sportsman’s life seems easy at a glimpse. If an individual plays well, wealth and fame will come easily to them. But the real success lies in what fuels them every day to keep going. For some, it is their passion, and for basketball Hall of Famer Dwyane Wade, it was his own life that inspired and motivated him. When questioned by his own son, the legend uncovered the battles he fought in his past to be who he is now.

In a clip circulated on social media, Zaire Wade was seen engaging in an illuminating conversation with his father. Let’s see how D-Wade answered his son’s questions.

Dwyane Wade talks about his motivation

In the clip, the 21-year-old asked his father if there was ever a time when he wasn’t motivated or losing sight of his goals. To which, Wade had a fascinating answer. While his words might not surprise those who have been following the legend since he stepped on the court, they continue to be a source of inspiration for several.

Explaining his drive, he shared, “I have been very driven my entire life it’s just something from the community I grew up in from my circumstances, I’m driven every day. I get out of bed every day for a different drive.”

He elaborated, “I want more. I just always wanted more out of life than what was presented to me, and I have always wanted for my family and for my people.”

The Miami Heat legend expressed how his past and his responsibilities toward his family and community have always inspired him.

Dwayne Wade’s troubled past

What fans see now is his success. But very few are aware of how his journey to the Hall of Fame was full of hardships.

He was 9-years-old when his father got his custody from his mother.  Once in an interview, he revealed how, as a child, he had to worry about his mother and sister’s safety. Due to his mother’s legal and personal issues, the young Wade had to experience several unsettling issues that made him fear the police. He mentioned how his father stepped up to take responsibility for the family and helped her mother. 

Further, he mentioned how his father was a role model in his life, guiding and advising him. That’s exactly what he is following in his life.

With official induction into the Hall of Fame, another feather was added to the legend’s glorious career of 17 accolades. His greatness lies in not just his achievements but the stunning moments he served on the court.
