During his two seasons at Georgetown, a young Allen Iverson was already making waves. The Philadelphia 76ers legend was a 2x first-team All-American selection and Big East Defensive Player of the Year, creating a star status around him early on in his career. While many would notice his dashing tattoos, unique braids, earrings, and headbands, former NFL superstar Michael Vick had his eyes on something totally different. 

The 4x Pro Bowl selection was blessed to meet the 2001 NBA MVP when he was 14 years old. Vick spoke about his first meeting with Iverson in an interview for ‘VLAD TV’. What do you think is the first thing he noticed on the Sixers legend’s hands? The former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback shared, “When I actually met him, I was fourteen. He was at Georgetown and I never forget. I met him, I was introduced to him and the only thing I noticed was the Rolex on his arm.”

Of all the decorative features of Iverson, the $10.7 billion luxury watch brand was the only thing that caught Vick’s sight. Both Michael Vick and Allen Iverson lived in the same neighborhood, and that is how they were introduced to each other. Just like ‘The Answer’, Vick had a phenomenal quickness which gave him an added advantage in the league. He was an athlete in the NFL, who changed the role of a quarterback by showing a dual side to it.

Iverson is infamous for his short, but impactful tenure as a quarterback for his high school. According to a few reports, he was considered a “legend” in football, when he represented his state in high school. And that could be a reason why he believes he was a better quarterback than Michael Vick back in his high school days. Well, there is no sarcasm here. During an interview from more than a decade ago, Vick himself agreed, “I view it as a legend”.

Allen Iverson shared in the same interview that he believes he was a better football player than a basketball player. AI revealed that he has told this to his teammates a lot of times, but they do not believe him. Iverson shared, “I know in my heart, I was a better football player.”
