Even NBA stars can be apprehensive about meeting their favorite players. During the 76 years of its existence, there have been names that transcend the superstardom of an average NBA player. However, the one name that stands head and shoulders above all is Michael Jeffrey Jordan. A brand in itself, Mike is as close to his?Black Jesus?moniker as you can get. For many superstars of today, he is their God.

Unfortunately, that amount of worshipping can result in some awkward encounters. Due to his firsthand experiences, Jayson Tatum can tell you it’s not a pleasant feeling. However, with his latest tattoo, perhaps he’s ready to move past those days of embarrassment.

The?not?22-year-old Tatum has been on the run of a lifetime. Despite several doubters coming in, the Boston Celtics held strong. And, their beliefs paid off as the team finally reached the 2022 Finals. Despite tasting defeat at the hands of Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors, vibes were good in Beantown.

Moreover, the team’s incredible grit in fighting back from down 0-3 to force a Game 7 further solidified their standing as a perennial contender. Were it not for a twisted ankle in the opening minutes to Tatum, the team might be heading back to another NBA Finals.

As the front office got busy re-tooling the roster, Jayson has continued to put work into his game. However, he’s also upgrading his tattoo game. Spending some serious VC, the 4-time All-Star showed off an incredible new tattoo on Snapchat.

Spanning his lower back, it is a recreation of his first signature shoe with the Jordan brand. While their start was rocky, Tatum is quickly becoming one of the best players to represent the brand as he moves into the NBA’s upper echelon.

However, his dream of remaining on board the brand was in serious jeopardy following his first encounter with the kingpin himself.

On a trip to Monte Carlo and Paris prior to the 2019 NBA season with the Jordan brand family, Tatum became the talk of the green. Even with names like New York Knicks superfan Spike Lee, Russell Westbrook, and Carmelo Anthony present, Jay’s blunder was the highlight of the night.

About to meet his childhood idol, Jayson had some obvious nerves. While he hoped for a cool, “What’s up?”,?it instead turned to a miscue. As he went to shake the Chicago Bulls legend’s hands, his shaking hands caused the wine glass to spill over and break.

Immediately, the room burst into laughter and Tatum was on thin ice. Despite his notoriety, Jordan took it in stride and didn’t make much of the deal. Thankfully, Tatum has more than lived up to the brand and the man’s image.
