“Forgiveness is an attribute of the strong” and Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union live by it. The Hollywood star is not new when it comes to facing bitter experiences. However, the one time when she was let go from America’s Got Talent, it unraveled a new experience for her. In this tough journey, she hoped that host Terry Crews would stand as a support for her, but he fell short of her expectations. After a few years of apologizing, he decided to speak about it directly to NFL legend Shannon Sharpe on his podcast.

He showed his appreciation to the power couple due to their loving gesture. After DWade especially reached out to Crews and invited him and his wife for lunch, Crews told Union, “I apologized to her to her face… ‘Gabi, please, please accept this apology’… She gave me a big hug, hugged my wife, we ate with them, we had lunch with them, enjoyed this music and I’m sitting here like, ‘Who gets this?!'”

Crews was not expecting Union to accept his apology, but she went a step further. Expressing his gratitude, the 55-year-old shared, “Dwyane and Gabi, I have nothing but utmost respect, because anybody could have just been like, ‘I have got nothing to say’… It was from heaven, man, it was like a whole ‘nother thing. And the level of humility it took for him to cover over and just be like, ‘Give me that love,’… I’m in admiration and I’m in awe of him and her.” But what led to all this?

In 2020, Union filed several complaints against the producers of AGT. The drama spread like wildfire on the internet but it came to an end after NBC settled the dispute by accepting her criticism. But it spilled over to the judges and the AGT host, Crews as well. The Brooklyn Nine-Nine actor sent a series of ill-fated tweets. While they didn’t mention Union, it was perceived as a jab at her. After that, Union called out Crews on several platforms.

Union and Wade’s forgiveness brought a new light into Crews’ life. However, before that, the Bring It On actress did not go easy on him. Union shared in an interview, “People hit me all day long and are like, what’s happening? And the only thing I know for sure is that Terry Crews gets three checks from NBC…Based on his recent actions, do you really think Terry Crews was an ally, was helpful, was a sounding board?” Union had some hard-hitting questions for the public but directed towards Crews.

She further added, “I think Terry Crews is showing us who he is and what he does during times of adversity and it’s not solidarity.“ This anger from Union was fair for many people because of the support she showed to the 55-year-old when he shared an assault story. Union stood by him, but Crews did not.

Anyhow, all the bitter past has come to an end. Crew issued his apology multiple times and the wholesome friends are back together!
