For the longest time, basketball fans strived for content during the summer months. But, with no real alternative, all they could do is wait for the season to begin in October. However, over the past few years, an entertaining and viable option has presented itself. With the Big3, fans have gotten a chance to watch household names go at it in a 3v3 half-court match.
But the league’s owner has major gripes with the NBA. And that is where Shaquille O’Neal comes in. He has never been one to sit quietly. During his time with the Lakers, while he dominated on the court, locker-room issues with Kobe Bryant never died down.
So, when Shaq used his IG story to promote the Big 3 owner’s comments, fans immediately gravitated toward it.

Shaquille O’Neal agrees with Ice Cube
Ice Cube is a true pioneer of the music industry. While gangsta rap is the norm now, Ice Cube was the first truly elite rapper from the genre to make it big time. As a result, his influence spreads throughout the music industry.
While he does claim that he’s not part of the “elite“, Cube’s approval holds a lot of value. Recently, he made waves by sending love to DJ Quik and DJ Battlecat for their impact on the West Coast’s music scene.

Seemingly in agreement with the rapper’s opinions was Shaq, as he posted the same video to his IG story. As fans took notice, the question was obvious. Was Shaq on Ice Cube’s side in his comments about the NBA?
A few weeks ago, the rapper-cum-basketball league owner had some choice words about the NBA, especially Commissioner Adam Silver. While his gripes with Silver and the media were obvious, he also made clear that neither he nor did the Big 3 need their help.
What comments did he make about the league?
Ice Cube goes on a podcast tour with NBA rant
On various podcasts, including the Dan LeBatard show and the Joe Rogan Experience, Cube divulged how the media had hurt his brand. The Big 3, which he began in 2017, was initially going to serve as a reprieve for basketball fans in the summer months.

However, perceiving it as competition, the NBA and media largely decided to ignore happenings around it.
He says, “I think they are nervous with NBA. It would be damaged if they promote the Big 3… What’s crazy is that we got their former Hall-of-Famers as part of this league. So it’s not like we hijacking them. We are not trying to compete in any way, shape, or form with the NBA.”
While he goes around from podcast to podcast voicing his frustrations, it would be interesting to hear Shaq’s response to Cube’s comments.
