“One Thing About My Mother and I”: Shaquille O’Neal’s Eldest Daughter Flexes Bond With Mom In Surprise Family Visit

You do not ignore an O’Neal. Shaquille O’Neal’s eldest daughter was so upset at getting snubbed by a very precious “boss” aunt, she hopped on a plane to confront her. Not as explosive as you’d think. She’s Shaq’s daughter. So it was warm and fun. Taahirah made a rapid vlog about it too, so she could flex that her NBA legend dad is not the only athletic star in the fam.

If you’ve kept up with Tennessee State football, you might have heard the name Katrina Chambers. She’s better known as the Director of Football External Relationships of the TSU Tigers. Now she’s also recognized as Taahirah O’Neal’s godmother. Taahirah looks up to her “Auntie Trina” a lot but she’s so busy at her job, she hasn’t been in touch with her niece. In true Shaq fashion, Taahirah booked herself and her mother, Arnetta Yardbourgh, on a flight from Houston to Tennessee to surprise Chambers.

“One thing about my mother and I….we’re gonna PULL UP on you. I love you Auntie Trina!” she captioned her quick vlog. She and Yardbourgh had a pit stop at their hotel where Yardbourgh did her daughter’s hair. “Which is cute,” Taahirah said.

They arrived at the Nissan Stadium in Nashville, where they ran into Chambers as soon as they were inside. Chambers was pleasantly surprised to see Arnetta and Taahirah. A successful trip to the end.

“My Auntie Trina means the absolute to me. I’ve looked up to her since I was a child. She’s one of the main reasons why I went into communications and public relations,” Taahirah said in the vlog. Though both her parents are academically accomplished as well as entrepreneurs, she followed Chambers’ footsteps.

Shaq’s daughter has the coolest aunt

Taahirah’s godmother is an accomplished one. From her vlog, we can see their old throwbacks to when Katrina and Arentta were friends. It probably stemmed from their history as volleyball athletes.

Before taking her new role at TSU in 2021, Chambers had founded PRO-Tential Managements in 2002. The firm manages diverse athletes, businesses, and philanthropists, including retired NFL pro-turned-TSU head coach, Eddie George. She had a brief stint as the owner of Sugar Land Legends where she was instrumental in the selection of Johnathan Simmons in the first ABL draft. Simmons would go on to play for the San Antonio Spurs and Orlando Magic.

Taahirah graduated Magna cum Laude in 2019 from Oglethorpe University. She was briefly a communications associate for PepsiCo and her dad’s company, Mino O Mine. She’s now on her self-made entrepreneurial path while also lending her communication expertise to Shaq’s Big Chicken franchises.

Before her Tennessee vlog, Taahirah was in Miami with Shareef watching Shaq play color commentator of the day. She spent Thanksgiving with her dad in the Bahamas. Clearly, along with the academic and entertainment accomplishments, she’s also living Shaq’s jet-setting life.
