It?s been almost 23 years since NBA Legend Earvin ‘Magic’ Johnson Jr. retired from professional basketball. Even then, the former Los Angeles Lakers player has stayed relevant in the public eye by engaging in various other interests that he loves to pursue. One of them includes travelling.

Through his Twitter account, Johnson keeps his followers updated on his latest coming and goings. The latest update sent his fans buzzing, as it showed Johnson hanging out with two popular figures from the world of NFL.

The 63-year-old recently shared a tweet highlighting a few pictures from his trip to Italy. They showed the former player eating a fresh sea bass at a barbeque restaurant in Hotel Cala di Volpe. Posing alongside the waiter, Johnson showed his appreciation for how good the fish was.

Johnson was also seen posing in a picture alongside Jeffrey Lurie, owner of the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles, and Thursday Night Football announcer Al Michaels. According to Magic, he ran into them after searching for a pizza/pasta restaurant for lunch.

Johnson?s meet with Lurie and Michaels comes only two months after the former player acquired a stake in an NFL team.

Back in May, Daniel and Tanya Snyder, owner of the Washington Commanders, decided to sell the franchise. They had been a part of the team for almost 24 years. Philadelphia 76ers managing-partner Josh Harris created a group of key people, including Johnson, who would help him place a bid for the franchise.

The sale was agreed upon in exchange for $6.05 billion. This marked the highest price that has been paid to acquire a North American sports franchise. The previous record holder was the $4.65 billion paid by Rob Walton, heir to the Walmart fortune, to acquire the Denver Broncos.

Even though the Harris-Johnson bid was not the highest, with former NBA player Brian Davis coming in at $7 billion dollars, the Snyder couple still went along with the former group. A few days after the deal was confirmed, Johnson took to Twitter to share the news with his 5.2 million followers.

Johnson?s acquisition makes him a rival to Jeffrey Lurie, who has been a part of the Philadelphia Eagles for almost 30 years. In spite of that fact, the duo didn?t mind being all smiles in the photo shared by Johnson.
