In a recent media interview, Jim Montgomery explained how the Boston Bruins played four games in the last six days. He states that they (Bruins) would need to be sharp when they go up against tougher teams.
He explains that the 71st Pick of the ?06 NHL Draft, Brad Marchand, was in a similar situation last year when he was recovering from an injury. Montgomery explains, ?When you start to get to be in your mid-30s ? the same thing with (Milan Lucic) ? they don?t want to miss a morning skate. They don?t want to miss a practice. What we know about players who perform the best at night is less is more at times.?
He goes on to compare Brad to the late Lakers legend as he says, ?I think Kobe Bryant is probably the best example. I think Marchy?s a lot like Kobe in the sense that he thinks he can just will his way, and work through everything. And sometimes pulling back is something you need to do.?
This praise from his coach goes to show the caliber of a player that Brad Marchand is. With the new NHL season in full swing, Brad Marchand (captain) looks to take his team to championship glory!
