Whether he’s confident or not, Charles Barkley will always root for the Auburn Tigers. The Alabama-based school’s proudest alum attended Sunday’s game with much fanfare. Only days earlier, he was outspoken about the team’s major problems and odds of winning. Barkley is so passionate about Auburn being on top, he tried to cement the biggest deal in college football.

Despite not giving the Tigers very good odds in his books, Barkley hyped Tigers nation with his appearance. Too bad for him, his weekend didn’t end the way he wished.

Charles Barkley was on his old stomping grounds this past week to cheer for his school. The Auburn Tigers football team was up against the Georgia Bulldogs on Sunday and Chuck travelled from Arizona to be present for the game. Barkley was sporting Auburn red at the game as he met fans. His jersey had No.7, football legend and Auburn icon, Pat Sullivan’s number.

In a clip of his arrival at the arena, he was seen talking to people from the Tigers’ faculty. He’s obviously rooting for his school but many speculate he put money on them too. If he did, he took a financial hit. Auburn got edged out 20-27 by the Dawgs after a tough battle.

While he was probably disheartened by it, Barkley probably saw it coming. The Philadelphia 76ers legend appeared on The Next Round last week and was honest that the odds weren’t in favor of the Tigers.

The Dawgs are one of the top-ranked football programs in the country while Auburn is a few steps behind.

After Sunday’s game, the weaknesses in Auburn’s offensive line were obvious. Sir Charles had pointed out the problems in their offence long before the game. Despite his doubts, Barkley is a fierce Auburn loyalist.

He showed up at the Jordan-Hare Stadium hoping for the Tigers to pull a turnaround.

Another famous Auburn alum at the game was Cam Newton. He knows best that the team is capable of pulling a spoiler. Since the Tigers lost, the team should probably take heed of Barkley’s analysis to return to its Cam Newton glory days.

Sir Charles even made more than one attempt to get Coach Prime to Auburn. This is despite Chuck’s longtime admiration for Alabama coach, Nick Saban.
