With the new NBA season and the ?In Season? tournament in full swing, the Houston Rockets seem to be slowly but surely finding their momentum as a team. Despite their 2-game losing streak and ‘not-so-great’ ranking in the West, the Houston Rockets show more promise than they have in the last few years.

In a recent interview, an NBA veteran praises Dillon Brooks’s impact on the team. The NBA veteran also talks about the interesting $128.5 million player addition to the Houston Rockets.

In a recent ?X? post of ?Run It Back?, the host brings up Dillon Brooks? performances so far in the new NBA season. The host then asks NBA veteran and ex-Clippers star, Lou Williams, ?I think they (Rockets) are doing fine as far as expectations are concerned. Lou, do you think it?s worth having Dillon on your team? Do you think there?s ever a time where his words will end up being detrimental to what they are putting out on the floor??

Lou Williams replies, ?Only time will tell. Right now, I think what he and Fred VanVleet have done with the young group down there in Houston, they?ve energized these guys. And they?ve put value back on vets on a basketball team.?

He further adds, ?Especially with the league moving in a direction where that last spot on the team is going to two-way guys. Those are the guys getting the opportunity to be on those teams as opposed to teams going on signing vets to keep your locker room straight and keep some order on the court.?

The three-time ?Sixth Man of the Year? then claims that Dillon Brooks is playing great basketball. Lou Williams truly believes that the ?new? Houston Rockets team is majorly benefitting from Fred Vanvleet?s, Dillon Brook?s, and a few other NBA veterans? trades to the Houston Rockets.

After playing a total of 11 regular season games, the Houston Rockets are currently ranked 7th in the Western Conference. The NBA team has a 6-5 win/loss ratio, two of those losses coming in the last two games they played against the Clippers and the Lakers respectively. However, the current Houston Rockets squad shows great promise. On a good day, they can win against star-studded teams with a deep bench like their win against the Dallas Mavericks this season. One reason for the Rockets? constantly improving performances has to be their trade strategies this season. Instead of bringing more young players into the team, the Houston organization placed their bets on the experience of NBA veterans like Fred VanVleet and Dillon Brooks.

The Rockets agreed to sign Fred VanVleet to a three-year, $128.5 million max contract with a third-year team option. Dillon Brooks has reportedly signed a four-year-long $80 million deal with a descending annual salary with the Rockets. Apart from these two NBA veterans, Jeff Green has also signed a one-year, $6 million deal with the Houston Rockets.
