Excluding his fair share of turbulent times, Michael Jordan has lived a pretty incredible life. Arguably the greatest player in the franchise’s history, Jordan represents hard work, passion, and dedication to the craft. However, one man alone cannot accomplish everything this world has to offer without having good people by their side. As for MJ, he had several people from his family who shared his dream and saw potential in everything he wished to pursue.
The list also includes Juanita Vanoy, Jordan’s ex-wife, who is also responsible for an unusual record that the Chicago Bulls legend held in his name for some time. Although the two had a fallout and called it quits on their marriage, Juanita was one of the biggest reasons behind MJ’s freedom to fulfill his father’s dream.

Jordan was a product of his upbringing. We have seen the footage from The Last Dance documentary where his parents would stand behind him in everything.?When he went on to accomplish the unfathomable on and off the court, several people failed to realize that he had been preparing for this success since he was a kid.
Three-peating the NBA championship twice, winning MVP awards, and bringing home the Olympic gold, Jordan made it look easy. However, the most special dream of his life was something else.
MJ’s father, James R Jordan Sr wanted to see his son become a professional baseball player. In fact, for the majority of his childhood, Jordan played baseball. However, he crushed every opportunity he got as a basketball player and reached the pinnacle of an athlete’s achievement.
In 1994, after the unfortunate demise of his father, ‘His Airness’ announced his retirement from the NBA, and in February 1994, he joined the Chicago White Sox. Although the move shocked the world, ‘Air Jordan’ was ready for a new challenge. During his retirement press conference, Jordan mentioned that he will look forward to having more time with his kids.
However, as a professional athlete, taking time out for the family wasn’t as easy as he would’ve liked.
Juanita helped Michael Jordan to pursue his dream
As a husband and a father of young kids, Jordan wanted to make more time for his family, but sadly couldn’t. That is when he understood and spoke about the importance of his wife in his life.
During an interview, MJ said, “I’m very in tune with Juanita and my kids and what they want from their father. You know, my wife has given me the freedom to fulfill this last dream that I’ve always had.” It was Juanita who managed everything else while Jordan pushed himself toward his lifelong dream. But the two couldn’t last together for very long.
