Thirty-three years of coaching at Farragut High School yielded a tremendous win-loss record of 541-320 for Nelson. The driving force behind Garnett’s growth and success, this individual cultivated not only his basketball skills but also his moral character.
In fact, many basketball fans consider Nelson as one of the greatest high school basketball coaches in Illinois history.
