The name Michael Jordan is synonymous with greatness. It is not just the NBA that the great man dominated but there are several other aspects of sports that he has made a mark in. Most notable of which will be his business acumen in the sporting world. Until recently, Jordan owned an NBA franchise, the Charlotte Hornets. Other than that, he also owns a team in NASCAR.

While it would appear to be a stacked resume for anyone in the world, the GOAT likes to do things differently. In his quest to be the greatest ever, Jordan also tried his hand at the sport that he loved the most as a child. Unsurprisingly, the biggest NBA athlete was welcomed with open arms in the baseball community by the Chicago White Sox. However, about 3 decades later, the billionaire ditched the White Sox, in order to strengthen relations with the Knicks.

Jordan is a true businessman and always has been. There are countless pieces of evidence to prove the genius of the Chicago Bulls legend when it comes to striking a profitable deal. Ever since his beginning in the NBA, he was touted as one of the finest young talents. As time went by, the kid from New York proved his mettle. He then went on to sign one of its kind deal with Nike that changed the world. Recently he sold his stake in the Hornets which made him about $3 billion richer. He also owns a team in NASCAR, 23 XI Racing, and has several athletes signed to his brand Jordan.

Safe to say, the 6x NBA champion has secured wealth that could last generations. However, in an interesting turn of events, Jordan seems to be ditching the White Sox who gave him a home for 24 months. The year was 1993, after three-peating the NBA championship, MJ decided to hang his boots for a while. He was also reeling from the death of his father at the time and in order to honor him, Jordan decided to take up baseball. At the time, the basketball phenom was welcomed by the affiliate team of the White Sox, the Birmingham Barons. Though the stint lasted 24 months only, it sure was special for the great man.
