The 66th Grammy Awards. A night full of music, harsh truths, surprises, love, and laughter. While the headlines went the obvious route, one surprise awaited the NBA world. Even though the NFL fandom found their winner in Taylor Swift and her record 13th and 14th Grammy Awards victory, the Michael Jordan household also came home victorious. However, it wasn’t any of the usual candidates bagging home the award.
Instead, in a post on her Instagram, Juanita Jordan, the ex-wife of the Chicago Bulls legend, and relationship mender for her son and Larsa Pippen, was the recipient of a Grammy. Her theatre production, “Some Like It Hot”, was a surefire hit among many.

As it turns out, the critics are also enamored with it. Winning the Grammy for best musical theater album, it beat out other blockbusters like Parade and Kimberly Akimbo. The latter even won a Tony the previous summer for best musical.
Accepting the award, Juanita was grateful for the honor and the impact that theater still has on the scene. “Support live theater,” was her war slogan as she graciously accepted the Award. In her IG post, she wrote, “We won…Some Like it Hot won for best musical theater album!!! If you didn’t see the musical on Broadway download the album…#SLIH”
Within a matter of months, it is the women in the Jordan household who have bagged home awards. Just weeks ago, it was the Washington Wizards legend’s mother who won an award for her services to the community.

Not only Juanita, Michael Jordan’s mother also proves to be a winner
Weeks before the unfortunate news about Dexter King, the Martin Luther King Center had a special award to present to Deloris Jordan. The grandmother of Marcus was the recipient of the Coretta Scott King Soul of the Nation Award for her incredible philanthropy work.
With the younger son of Michael in attendance, she would speak about the importance of her work and the impact it has on people. Further, she would term it as a continuation of the message that Dr. Martin Luther King left for the people.
