Never wear anything other than the Nike’s to meet Michael Jordan! The Chicago Bulls legend has ruthlessly loyal to his brand, and after a point, it has become a bit concerning for his un-sponsored guests. American actor and comedian Anthony Anderson was one of many, who fell prey to MJ’s antics. The 53-year-old recently shared how Mike completely disregarded his Muhammad Ali exclusive simply because of the $4 billion brand that produced it.
One year before his demise, the boxing legend had signed a deal with Under Armour. The collaboration was a dream for Ali’s fans and the comedian was one of the few who got the opportunity to buy a t-shirt from that collection. The only wrong thing he did was, wearing it in front of the 6x Bulls champion. Anthony Anderson shared in an interview, “I was wearing an Under Armour T-shirt in his presence… and he went and got a switchblade from somebody, and cut a hole in my shirt where the Under Armour was.“

“I was like, ‘But this is my Muhammad Ali exclusive’. ‘I don’t care man, that ain’t my brand’ and cut the Under Armour…Jordan did it to me,” the comedian added.
Anthony Anderson also revealed that the t-shirt featured a very small Under Armour trademark, about 1.5 inches. However, it was big enough to trigger the wrath of His Airness. It is hardly the only time that Mike displayed some fierce brand loyalty off the court.
Even NBA athletes were not safe from Michael Jordan
No one is escaping this treatment from Jordan, even if you are his closest friend. For Anderson, Under Armour was the problem, but for former lottery pick Tim Thomas, it was Adidas. The forward was invited to Jordan’s house for a party, where he foolishly went with full Adidas gear.

MJ immediately asked Thomas to remove all of it before entering his house. Tim Thomas shared in an interview, “They basically stripped me of that Adidas gear & put me in all Nike gear. So when I ended up leaving MJ’s house there was all my Adidas gear sitting in a bag outside.”
To make it even more embarrassing for Thomas, Mike did not even allow him to bring the bag inside. Air Jordan has helped the 5-time MVP to earn $250 million a year to this day. There is no way he will not be loyal to his brand. However, this treatment is a little extra.
