“(Michael) Jordan Should Be Ashamed”: Mad Dog Unleashes Scathing Attack While ESPN’s Favorite Attempts to Justify Best Friend MJ’s Absence

The Chicago Bulls‘ Ring of Honor ceremony was supposed to be an important event for the franchise. However, it grabbed the headlines for all the wrong reasons. Most notably, the fans booed the late Jerry Krause in front of his widow. Ever since, many fans, NBA legends, and analysts have criticized the fans’ reaction. Also, Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, and Dennis Rodman did not show up to the event. The absence of three of the most important players of that iconic team did not sit well with many including Chris ‘Mad Dog’ Russo.

During a recent segment of the First Take on ESPN, Russo went wild about the whole ordeal. Russo stated that it is easy to blame the fans for the boos but he wasn’t going to do that. He pointed at Stephen A. Smith and revealed that he was going to blame “his little buddy” referring to Jordan.

Like many fans online, Mad Dog blamed Pippen and MJ as the reason Krause is perceived as the bad guy. He noted that Krause was the one who traded Scottie on draft day and recounted some of his best moves. Russo was yelling at the camera the entire time!

Mad Dog exclaimed, “And he gets booed at Chicago for that nonsense? Because Jordan and Pippen can’t stand a guy? He was overrated when he helped build the team? And they don’t show up at Ring of Honor? That was a disgrace. Jordan should be ashamed of himself.”

He reiterated that MJ and Pippen’s blame game on Krause was the reason fans booed Mrs. Krause. Stephen A. Smith patiently listened to everything and gave his thoughts.

Stephen A. Smith defended Michael Jordan

Stephen A. Smith stated that he does not know the reason behind the 5x NBA MVP’s absence. However, he noted that he initially thought that Micael Jordan did not want to be there because of his fractured friendship with Scottie Pippen. He made it clear that the boos were wrong as Jerry Krause was deceased and his widow was at the event. He also supported Steve Kerr’s comments about the Bulls fans.

However, he did not think it was because of Jordan and Pippen, but because of Krause’s decision to break the team up irrespective of the season’s outcome. Smith said, “To the city of Chicago, Phil Jackson departed, Michael Jordan retired because Krause had said, ‘No matter what you accomplish, this is it!’ Usually, they give you a chance to fail. He said, ‘I don’t care if you go 82-0 and win the championship. This is it for y’all.'” 

He claimed the fans have not let go of this, because they have not had any success ever since and they attribute this to Krause. However, Stephen A reiterated the boos were inexcusable. But Chris Russo was not convinced.
