As the debate on who the GOAT is stays relevant, we take a step back to remember how MJ was a revolutionary player in his time. What he could do on the court is still unfathomable. In 1992, a Dream Team was formed which saw some of the greatest NBA players including Jordan, Magic Johnson, and Charles Barkley play in the men’s Olympic basketball squad.
During this time, Grant Hill was fortunate enough to be one of the 8 players who defeated this exclusive Dream Team.
Hill mentioned how he was awestruck by Michael Jordan’s influence.
Recalling his experience with the player he said, “We’d walk from Michael’s room and he’d have all the Jordan stuff in there and we thought, ‘Man! We were just hanging with Michael Jordan.”
Years later, when he had the chance to face the legend on the court, he understood why Jordan is equally hated and admired by the players. He noted how Jordan and his teammates made the Chicago Bulls unbeatable. He added, “You would sit down on DirecTV at night and want to see what the Bulls were doing.”

He shined bright and managed to win 7 NBA championships. Hill and Jordan faced each other during the match between Chicago Bulls and Detroit Pistons. However, one of the iconic games would be when Hill’s team defeated the Olympic Dream Team.
Recalling the experience, Hill said, “I’ve had a lot of interactions, obviously even before I got to the NBA. I think really my first, you know, time really meeting Michael Jordan was when he was playing on the dream team, and I was on the college select team, and the first day we played. ”
Unfortunately, numerous injuries weighed down his performance and confidence.
