It’s never a bad day to get in some self-care with your friends. Cookie Johnson’s birthday was more than a month ago. Her husband, Magic Johnson was the typical romantic on her 65th birthday too. However, she gathered her gang for a girls trip with a lot of pampering. A fun weekend getaway like this wouldn’t be complete without the Instagram proof either. Cookie shared a series of photographs from her relaxing time with her friends at Pelican Hill Spa in California.

“This weekend I had an amazing belated birthday with my girls at the Pelican Hill Spa. We enjoyed a day of pampering and a delicious lunch. So glad I was able to see everybody and I want to give a big thanks to Gina, Eula, and Tonya for putting this all together. We had such a fun time!” wrote Magic Johnson’s wife. The Lakers legend’s original ride-or-die celebrates her birthday on January 20. She may have waited for spring to head to make a birthday trip out of it at the place in Newport Beach. The resort is a favorite of the Johnsons who have frequented it in the past.

The 5x NBA champion was a special guest and speaker at a conference there in 2018. Their $7.6 million Mediterranean-style mansion is not very far from the resort too. Cookie shared fun shots with her friends at the spa and in their rooms. It looked like a fabulous time after Magic Johnson made her actual birthday special.

Cookie Johnson’s birthday was ‘Magical’

Magic and Cookie jetted off to Turks and Caicos for her 65th birthday in January. They’re both known for pulling out all stops for each other’s birthdays like the yacht vacation Cookie planned for one of Magic’s birthdays. This time Magic showed his appreciation for his wife of 32 years in a grand way.

Along with dining with a view of the ocean and fireworks, Magic did what he does best and penned the cutest message to her on Instagram. “My wife Cookie looks so good in her birthday attire,” he wrote about Cookie’s gorgeous green silk number.

“We’ve had an amazing time celebrating her today in Turks and Caicos with live music, dancing, food, great company, and a live firework show finale.” The sweetest moment was when they danced to Bobby Caldwell’s “What You Won’t Do for Love” in the backdrop of the fireworks.It would be very hard to top a birthday experience like that. But Cookie’s friends undoubtedly made it special in this weekend trip.
