Kobe Bryant might have left us all very soon, but his legacy has managed to bring people together time and again. In fact, it has even ended some long-term beefs, but we are not going there now. This time, it is just a wholesome reunion of two former Los Angeles Lakers stars, who won championships alongside the Black Mamba. Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom are back together for the latter’s upcoming podcast episode, which the fans are eager for.

Odom shared an update about the new episode which is about to drop on Monday. Notably, he added that they will be speaking about their championship days with the 5x champion. Odom wrote on Twitter, “This was my first time sitting down with (Pau Gasol) in front of a camera and discussing our championship days with our brother Kobe.”

Gasol and Odom were the brothers in arms for Bryant in his historic back-to-back championships in 2009 and 2010. While many believed that the 4x MVP would never lift the final title again, Gasol and Odom helped him in changing the narrative. The European sensation averaged 18 points in those two crucial years and he was considered a replacement to Shaquille O’Neal.

Odom, on the other hand, came off the bench mostly in 2009 and 10 as an efficient forward. He also later went on to win the 6MOTY in 2011. Moreover, there was an unbreakable bond between Gasol and Odom, even after they departed from the Lakers.

Gasol was emotional about Odom during his hospitalization in 2015

2015 was not sweet for Lamar Odom. The Lakers forward was found unconscious and he was later taken to a hospital where he fought for his life. Though he did recover, it was a pretty serious situation where he luckily avoided brain damage. In these miserable times, Gasol was very emotional.

The Lakers champion shared, “I got some updates today and they weren’t good…It was an emotional day for me. I’m just trying to keep it together for now and hopefully, he[Odom]’ll come back and he’ll recover well. But right now from what I’ve heard it’s a difficult situation that he’s finding himself in.”
