The perception of certain media members can sometimes precede them. Moreover, most times, that reputation might not be an accurate representation of the people they are. That is the reality that the newest debate partner, Gayle King, finds herself accepting working on her show with NBA legend Charles Barkley. Despite initial trepidation, reports suggest that the two are having a wonderful time.
With the NBA fandom familiar with the brilliance of Barkley, a larger audience might be in for a treat.

Charles Barkley impressing his new team already
Since joining the TNT show nearly 2 decades ago, Charles has been a regular highlight of programming. In fact, while Ernie Johnson might be the glue of the entire operation, Chuck is the heart and soul for the team to function.
With his quick wit and remarkable comedic timing, the Chuckster never failed to entertain. But, time and time again, he has also shown a remarkable knowledge base and genuine wisdom about various topics. It is, perhaps, those characteristics that brought CNN to his doorstep.
Now, the latest reports suggest that his partnership with Gayle King is off to a flying start. While the show is postponed in light of the ongoing Israel-Palestine war, the two are already hard at work. The CNN team sounds extremely optimistic. “King Charles is still slated to debut this year and Gayle and Charles are having fun with the rehearsals. People are going to like the show and we’re excited for people to see it.”

The duo is strong at practice, holding rehearsal sessions at the $25 billion Hudson Yards, The Daily Beast reports. Safe to say, Gayle seems to be over her initial worries about working with the former NBA MVP.

Trouble in Charles Barkley’s paradise?
Without a single appearance on air, there were reports of strife between the two parties. Notably, King was wary of the potential ramifications that Chuck’s unapologetic commentary might bring. Further, his continuous habit of breaking into anecdotes was a severe nuisance for her.

However, the duo had to give it a shot. CNN has a lot of hopes for the show and views it as a saving grace. Barkley, for his part, has also given credence to the rumor, suggesting that the advice he got was to drop the show.
