Kevin Garnett projects future MVP comes from Minnesota

The Minnesota Timberwolves have a powerhouse in Anthony Edwards who was named the Western Conference Player of the Week for Week 3. That’s firmly entered his name in the running for MVP as the Wolves go further. Ahead of the Wolves’ next matchup against the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday, a clip of the first-overall pick of the 2020 NBA draft talking about the franchise was shared by Kevin Garnett.

As Ant said, Draymond Green was caught on the hot mic trash-talking Edwards during Sunday’s matchup between the Wolves and Dub Nation. Edwards was leading with 23 points when Green fouled him. It led to a verbal altercation and the 22-year-old responded with 10 more points to win the game 116-110.

Both share a love for talking smack. And the whole thing is getting the attention of the Boston Celtics legend who made trash-talking an art form. Kevin Garnett in fact picked a side. “#ANTMANMVP” he added on his Instagram Stories with the claim, “No Better 2 in the league right now.”

In case it’s still not clear, KG went on to add, “The League is on notice with bro.. I’m telling U.. he’s up next.. hes [sic] up now..” he said about the shooting guard.

The feud between Green and Edwards has been brewing for a while. At this game, Ant reportedly threw some big words at Green, declaring, “Ain’t nobody worried about you, bruh, hell nah.” Antman definitely has no rival to worry about.

Antman picks up legendary support

Edwards was named Player of the Week for the first time in his career so far. He’s been leading the team in scoring during the 2023-24 regular season and was responsible for the Wolves’ recent wins. He’s making the Wolves look like a top playoff contender.

While there have been numerous comparisons with Michael Jordan due to how similar they look, fans are now beginning to compare his game to His Airness’. While there’s more to be desired to back that claim, Shaquille O’Neal has safely named him among his top 3 shooting guards in the league. Garnett is also on the Antman bandwagon for MVP.
